What don't you like about working at Office Depot?
"Hours - too many nights and weekends, understaffed, lack of training (need to do a lot more cross training), underpaid, computers are way too slow to be efficient. Need to be trained on software (publisher, adobe photo-shop, and all the other software used in the copy center. Xerox certified is a joke!!! Better drivers for the Docucolor 252. Schedule does not come out early enough (less than a week is not enough), and hours should not be cut after the schedule has been issued. I would like to see the schedule come out a month in advance!!!"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"A lot less micromanaging. Set broad direction and let each manager manage accordingly. Forget about Black Friday since we lose money with all the sales. Since we are not a one stop holiday shopping location, there is no need to open early. Stick to the basics and forget all the designer crap!!! Most huddles are worthless. Stop worrying about the numbers and work more on the process. Most associates do not care. We spend too much time tracking when we have other things to do. Dropping all endcaps and EBWs at the same time makes it hard to nearly impossible to get them and freight done in a timely manner."
