"Good compensation package, reasonable technology. Great local staff but the Arca / Chicago management wants to clear house (NYC house, that is)."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Yes, keep it short, narrow, and relatively bland. They like replaceable parts there. If you appear to be too diverse, it will complicate things when they want to RIF you."

What don't you like about working at NYSE Euronext?

"Narrow job responsibilities. For instance, staff not in a Development group are prevented or discouraged from programming any kind of scripting code. This hampers engineers, operators and administrators outside of a Development from contributing to the creation and implementation of the final product. Same can be said for project manager's limited roles, etc."

"Need to listen more and be open to others' ideas. Otherwise, all that they need is luck!"

"There is complete freedom in how to get the job done and no concrete deadlines in our department, but that's because the deadline for a project once it is thought up is yesterday"

"I would try to reduce the siloed environment, but our CEO is already working on doing that"

"Since the ICE Purchase of NYSE it's all down hill, cut salaries, far worse working conditions and layoffs galore. It was good to trim some of the mgmt overhead and BS that NYSE had but the cuts run deep even into key technology and customer service people. But with energy getting to be the most valuable commodity there is no stopping ICE."
