2.2I have been with my hospital for over 15 years, and we "joined" NVA almost 4 years ago, during what we later discovered was a hypergrowth expansion. Unfortunately, this company was woefully underprepared to support a massive influx of locations, and their "Join Us, Stay You" motto was a pipe dream. From the actual day 1, we experienced that what was promised was not the reality, and anytime we point out what is promised to us in writing is not being held true, it gets brushed off as "well, you know-how corporations are..." from our upper management. Which, by the way, at least for my region, they can't hold on to any management higher than a site leader including the VP of the region for more than a year due to a massive disconnect between what the "company" thinks the employees of veterinary industry need and what the actual needs are. During the pandemic, the non-industry management had no idea what the effect of undersupport, underpay, and massive demand in growth would do to us and now they're left picking up the pieces as thousands and thousands of our cohorts are fleeing the industry. But sadly this is the reality for NVA, and consistently reinforced by upper management, who takes a "we can't approve pay raises or attract talent but we can incentivize trivial deadlines with pizza parties" approach.
2.6Overall, I believe NVA is a good company. My particular site I was given was rundown and corporate wanted things to get turned around overnight. I had no formal training even though they hired me knowing this was a new industry for me in which I had no experience. After a couple months they decided to go another route and let me go even though we had been making strides on many projects and improving the property. But I really think that my experience was an outlier and I think they are a good company.
2.7Overall the team and culture is not what I was expecting. I was able to build a team in a different location and mold the culture differently. I could only go as far as my upper management would support me
