What do you like about working at Axis Health System?
"All of my co-workers are wonderful. There is very little drama and everyone gets along."

"If you can find a job where the facility pays well and understands the work life balance go for it because Axis is not the place for you"
What don't you like about working at Axis Health System?
"The administration is lacking. They politely dismiss any ideas from their employees as well as having expectations that don't fit the job description."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"To treat their employees better. Don't have a drawing where all upper management wins the big prizes and the rest of us get 5 dollar coffee cards. We werent born yesterday and anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that the drawing was fixed. Not to mention the way the PTO is handled. They need to understand that their employees have to have a balance between work and their personal lives. Taking paid holidays out of our PTO time is not exactly a paid holiday especially when we have a paid holiday almost every month."
What do you like about working at Brookdale Senior Living?
"We are all like family. That would be residents and team members. For the most part, our goals are ALL to improve the quality of life and care of our residents."

"Usually, it is situational. We have a GREAT company and a great team!"

"lack of direction and micromanagement of staff. Employees are not empowered to perform their duties appropriately."

"Employees are motivated by positive reinforcement and opportunities for improvement"

What do you like about working at St. Mary's Medical Center?
"This was a great company to work for, they always made an effort to keep their employees happy. Had an on site child care facility funded by the hospital, competitive salaries, paid continuous education."

"Interview with the people they will be working with to see to get a better feel for the person and the job duties involved."
What don't you like about working at St. Mary's Medical Center?
"The distance from home at the time. Also at the time there was a transition into introducing unions."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Communicate effectively with their employees during time of transition. People always appreciate transparency"

"Good location, decent pay, a decent amount of vacation time (if they let you take it)."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't. The hospital is poorly managed, unethical practices, broken promises, unfairness, deceit, hostile working conditions, and a huge employee turnover. Don't do it if you want to keep your license."
What don't you like about working at Cedar Hills Hospital?
"Poor working conditions, expected to manage too many patients, underhanded politics, asked to engage in unethical practices, poor benifits, poorly managed, poor communication, very hostile working conditions (a snake pit), no safety for the staff's licence's, very shady dealings going on, and sceduling is horrible at best."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Focus more on patient care and making the enviornment more professional (stop the nurse on nurse hostility), stop the abuse and harrassment, become more ethical, and get a new sceduling staff member."

What do you like about working at CareCore National?
"I was able to work from home. period.This was the only good part of this whole deal."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you have to get to the point of an interview ; ask a lot of questions."
What don't you like about working at CareCore National?
"NO job autonomy. They seem to forget we are professionals who have education, experience and a license. I worked hard for what I have today. They frequently state, this is a call center mentality-deal with it.. They treat you as such. You will have no autonomy at this company and there is no chance for advancement. You will be treated as one of the employees who work the call center. If having a little bit of respect on the job due to experience and education is important for you ; this job is not for you. It is almost impossible to get time off ; even one day.Again, they tell you this is a call center and time off is hard to come by due to availability. If you are a person who expects two to three weeks off a year; this is not a place for you. I was never able to get my 2 weeks off for a family vacation and had to give my notice in order to take a planned family vacation. If you want to work for a company that supports the work-family dynamic ;this is not the place."

"Change or get out the ball game.I don't think they care to change."
What do you like about working at Coventry Health Care?
"I enjoyed managing a case load of our members with chronic illnesses like COPD and CHF and providing education to help keep them out of the hospital and reduce their cost if able"

"I am not sure of the stability of the program, there are changes daily."

"We were not really allowed to self manage out members even though we showed results. Management was starting to micromanage."

"I would suggest trusing their nurses that they hired to do their job until there is reason not to."

"Nothing really. The staff was always complaining and causing rumors."

"Be prepared to move on to a better job because the staff will make you feel inferior."

"The arrogance of the staff at times. They think that they are the smartest and best people around."

"Allow for the staff to provide direct input on the care and operation of the facility."

"Limited chances up moving up the ladder... limited chances of reaching your monetary goal. Advice - always know their going to want you to do more w/out being compensated for such"

"Lack of funding for software programs that would increase efficiency in our jobs"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I suggest mgmt fight for the care mgmt dept - with the supplies they need. if they want to show increased revenue for the company. Also, verbal acknowledgement of what a great job we're doing given our current constraints..still showing decreased admits and readmits. Current DIRECTOR unsupportive of care mgmt yet expects stellar results without giving us the tools to succeed."

"good amount of vacation time when they actually let you take it."

"Don't do it if you want to keep your license. Most emplyees can't wait to leave."
What don't you like about working at Cedar Hills Hospital?
"The only focus is money. Ex: ceo stopped the puchase of enema kits because we were using them too much and it was costing the hospital. We had to buy our own the other day. No support for the staff. No safety for the staffs' license's. Many shady dealings going on behind closed doors. Scheduling is horrible at best. Inconsistant management. CEO will say one thing then CNO will say another. When you question either of them about it they will say, I never said that. Unethical treatment.Underhanded politics. No tuition assistance. Come on, even McDonalds gives tuition assistance."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Focus should be on the pts who spend a lot of money to come to this hospital. Support your staff.Get a new scheduling staff member. Keep your promises."
