Working at Nifco in Canal Winchester, OH: 3 Employee Reviews

Nifco Employee

"The benefits here are second to none. All my friends outside the company are jealous of them. The pay seems to be decent for the work I do. The cost of living raises is given yearly. Bonuses are also given each year. The amount is dependent on how well the company is performing, which is typically good."

Nifco Employee

"Nifco offers a great opportunity to any employee to grow beyond a basic understanding of plastic components to become an expert in their field and possibly many more. While at Nifco, I have become much more than what I thought was able of me while an engineering student because of the many challenges and support I got. However, there is an obvious glass ceiling with very little chance for you to grow beyond a mid level engineer unless you are placed into a brand new role, political favoritism, or a senior employee was to leave. This is mostly due to the Japanese influence and the management structure currently in place. The later may more directly enforce this as they may not favor promotion within as they are either too fearful of their own position being exposed as actually lesser in value than what they espouse to executives, or they fear the use of promotion to land higher wages outside Nifco. This sadly happens as compensation is below industry average and managers spend more time fretting about having bodies in seats than acquiring good talent for a slightly higher price than they currently lease. Buyer beware of the great injection molding training academy's secrets. Stay if you can move within and enjoy the good benefits, leave if you are capped below your potential and can't stand having terrible IT, quality turnover, and playing politics."
