"As an onsite contractor at NIBIB, I had great onsite management including my own supervisor and another who was an interim director. Until federal budgets began to shrink, for the most part, the job was great. When the bottom fell out, a lot of negative competition took over and ruined the experience. I loved being able to train and grow in my work. My supervisor made sure to write money into her contracts for that."

"My project manager and the people in my small office were great. I love the work and the fact that I'm not always behind a desk, but have a lot of variety in my work and interact with a lot of people throughout NIH."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't. But if you have to, be submissive and don't show too much initiative, because that will intimidate certain key individuals."
What don't you like about working at NIBIB?
"Leadership is not strong at the top, and because of this, a lot of bad decisions have been made for inappropriate, personal reasons and backstabbing and oppression reign."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Lead the people in your employ, trusting them to do their jobs. You have some brilliant, creative, capable people on your staff. They are the experts in their fields. End products will be much higher quality if people are allowed to do their jobs without having to be bullied by people who think they know how to do things better."
