"I have worked with and for NetApp for several years and they are a great company to work for. The people at NetApp are great to work with and are willing to help at the drop of a hat. There have been a lot of changes lately, some good, some bad, but still a great place to work. The tools and access I have to get my job done are second to none as I have worked for competitors and nothing compares."

Working at NetApp in Sunnyvale, CA: 48 Employee Reviews

QA Manager

"Be on your toes and look over your shoulder all the time!"

What do you like about working at NetApp?

"New technology."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be TECHNICAL and be VERY POLITICALLY AWARE. Almost Machiavellian. Do them before they do it to you. And do not enter the NetCache group, shoot for file servers, they have brilliant fun challenging positions there. Do not trust HR."

What don't you like about working at NetApp?

"Poor management in the NetCache division. Much better in the file server organization."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Recognize the value of every employee and stop rewarding bullies."

Sustaining Engineer

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire right people."

HRIS Manager

"Productivity improvements needed."

What do you like about working at NetApp?

"It's cool to work for a company that's consistently in the top 20 Fortune Companies to work for. They hired good people, with strong skill sets and were enjoyable to work with."

What don't you like about working at NetApp?

"Process, process, process. It was very difficult to get work done on a day to day. Their internal tools for managers and employees were not well integrated. There are so many different tools, it was hard to know which one to use for what process. A large number of IT and business analysts are required just to keep the lights on."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Develop a strategic plan regarding business process design and system integration. Cost saving would be huge, if processes and interfaces were more seamless and the number disparate systems were reduced. Be willing to invest on such projects. It's not as if those conversations don't occur but when it comes to making the investment, that's where the company falls short."
