"The above figure is misleading in that it assumes an 8 hour work day which is not the case. I also presume it reflects a full year of employment rather than the 10 months school is in session. Finally, the assumption is that substitute teachers work everyday. It would be very nice if that were the case. In this area, the average daily salary is around $100. Also, as a certified teacher, retirement funds are taken from this amount."
