What do you like about working at Moses Taylor Hospital?

"Hands on technical work. I love working and repairing medical devices as well as any other devices that came our way, tvs, vcrs, etc... We were the technical gurus that could fix anything electronic. I liked the responsibly of working in the ICU, ER, and OR, and being on call for emergencies that needs to be attended to STAT."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Not really, it would be hard to get into this position as once someone local get the position, they will usually stay there for years it not life since BMET jobs are hard to find in this area."

What don't you like about working at Moses Taylor Hospital?

"Well I was hired well below the pay rate of everyone else in the department below the cost of living at the time. The reason is that we have a BMET school in the area and they can get interns and graduates right out of school that want to say local. It's worth the low pay. But after 3 years I had more responsibility than most of the other techs, because I was eager and computer suave I would usually be assigned all the new internet and computerized departments and equipment. I was getting 10.00 ph, and everyone else was around $16.00 to $20.00 p/h. while other graduates from my school that moved out of the area were making 40-50K a year. When I asked for a raise, they said no one else in the department was complaining about their pay or 2 to 3% raises and it was denied."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Nothing. Great place to work. Great Job. Might just want to pay a little more or give a curve to new BMETs that excel and take on more responsibility over the years."
