The management team demands sycophants and yes-men, and there is high turnover in mid-management: in one year, I had three managers (one got fired in a fit of anger, one quit in a fit of anger).
I am a very hard-working, dedicated Sales & Marketing Director with my current company for over 20 years. Within this time, I have helped to make our publication the most sought after tourist publication along the Grand Strand. In my first year, I was responsible for changing this publication from a 2/color 32 page product, to a 4/color 146 page publication with a distribution of over 1.8 million and have increased our overall sales to a multi-million dollar company. I have been the top sales person for the past 10 years bringing in sales of $1,000,000 on my own.
I've been with Monster for 13+ years. I started before the bubble broke. I've seen good times and I've seen bad times. I can honestly say I loved my job. With recent business decisions, I have only started to look for a new job. I understand what the company has to do. They are doing what is best for the company, stock holders etc etc. It just does not work for me.
