5th Grade Teacher

"A good school and a great principal."

What do you like about working at Midland Independent School District?

"I was only in Midland for a year before moving out of state, but probably the best part of my experience was working with the principal at my school. She retired the year I left, but she was very supportive of her staff and had a great relationship with the students at her school. She ran a tight ship, but with a sense of humor."

What don't you like about working at Midland Independent School District?

"At the time, MISD bussed students from different neighborhoods to integrate the student population and although I enjoyed the diversity, I believe it was unsettling for the students to be sent to one school for two years, then another for three years and so on. It also meant that families were split up since younger siblings went to their neighborhood school, while the older siblings were bussed to other campuses."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would suggest that they let all children attend their neighborhood school, unless they want to request a transfer."
