"Upper management doesn't have a good handle on how to run a sales organization. Know their technology but not how to sell it."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Hire managers and sales executive who have experience selling high level solutions to large fortune 1000 organizations."
"Great first job out of college. Majority of the staff are 20-30s in age."
What do you like about working at MicroStrategy?
"Great place to work right out of college. Majority of the staff are all young and friendly. Very social environment and great place to make new friends."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Fitting in with the in-crowd and being a social drinker will help alot as drinking events tend to be the company gathering style. Expect employees that get along more with managers to advance faster, regardless of work ethic or reviews."
What don't you like about working at MicroStrategy?
"The departments are run very profit/cost aware. The company is always looking to cut any costs possible to increase profits. In a slow economy this means lots of lay offs or pushing employees to work twice as much without extra compensation."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Several departments are run as a group of friends. If you do not fit into that group of friends, your setup as a fall person or an outcast that's first to be cut loose."
