"I've worked for Mercy for almost 9 years and it has gotten progressively worse in that time. There is no real direction at the senior leadership level and it negatively impacts the front line. They talk a big game about being innovative, but there is no substance to back up those claims. Very political environment."

"There was never a dull moment. Something always needed fixing."

"They're the big employer in town, but I didn't find one person that actually liked their job and was happy doing it."

"The over-micromanaged Management style and the egotistical board."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Come to the business center and look at what your policies and procedures has reaped. Upgrade to the 20th century in systems and hardware."

"The days flew by, we were always very busy..unfortunately we were busy in meetings that even upper management joked were unnecessary. We never solved problems because we weren't given the power to, just the illusion that we were in control."

"That management was deaf and blind to everything."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Remove every board member or send them to the lowest positions in the company to see what the work is like. Upgrade the computer systems and go to one system that will handle both hospital and clinic charges. Get into the 21st century."
