"I have learned a lot about the media/publishing industry and have been able to sharpen my skills on several tools I did not have full access to at my previous place of employment."

"Think twice. The grass over here is green but it's artificial turf."
What don't you like about working at 1105 Media?
"From my first day of work, I received no training on processes, introductions to the team, etc. However, from day one I have been criticized on my work product. Company culture is every one for themselves and management is extremely unprofessional, rude and offensive."

"Learn how to treat people . . . well. Also, learn how to trust and respect those you hire as professionals."

"Inconsistent business plan that could frequently change. High turnover of staff."

"Keep refining to find the right team and right mix of offering. The company intentions are good."

"The main key in management is structure and organizational skill. In order to achieve any goal upper management has to be structured in order to produce a great team."

"The company was family owned and there was no room for advancement as all manegerial roles and promotions were given to family members."

"The company works on a good line of products and there is a creative ability. Yet, ultimately, it's a stepping stone destination only."

"Stay away unless this is the only option. The company has gone through 5 presidents in the last 24 months. People don't like to stay there."

"Overseas management is ruthless and hostile. The CEO is extremely mercurial and prone to fits of ego and temper tantrums."

"Trust employees. Stop hiring young kids to manager roles. Don't discount the experience of those available."

"I have moved to the very top of where I can be with this company. I can't move up any higher."

"Offer benefits to your employees, listen to their concerns and work with them to create a plan for the company's future."

"Based on the experience I have brought in, there is a lot of pressure on me to grow Gensler's footprint in the Federal market. I enjoy being responsible for strategizing th strategic direction for how to do this."

"Be yourself. Gensler truly appreciates individuality. Each person is brought on for a particular expertise. The firm looks for people who are proud of their expertise and aren't looking for conform to what they think the firm wants them to be."
What don't you like about working at Gensler?
"Currently, the office is too small to accommodate the staff. To solve this, Gensler has implemented a bench style seating plan. Consequently, this leads to a lack of privacy, and lack of space to hold meetings and/or conference calls."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I think the management of Gensler is highly successful in allowing employees to accomplish what they are specialized at. If I were to offer any suggestions, it would be to allow employees greater opportunities to branch out of their specialization and explore the other practice areas within the firm."

"Working from home was great, creativity was a must, customer service interactions really gave you an opportunity to educate the consumer."

"This is a great company. If you have a marketing background that would be very helpful."

"Nothing at all. This was my favorite company that I have worked for, year to date."

"The environment was very beautiful, fashion forward, the building was located in a nice area."

"If you want to dedicate your life to a company this is it. Be prepared to work from 9am to 8pm and then take your laptop home to continue working."

"Working 16 hours a day, everyday, being looked at like you were crazy if you ate lunch."

"Hire double the staff of what you currently have. The turn over rate should be enough of a demonstration that something isn't working."

"come in with a plan, make sure you are not stuck with a job you don't want to do, because it will be impossible to get out"

"too micromanaged, too political, not diverse. It used to be a great place to be."

"DO NOT get hung up on job description everybody works well outside any job description on a consistent basis, and that is actually one of the more positive aspects of this company"

"It is run emotionally from the top down. Emotionally based knee-jerk reactionary decisions are made quickly and we spend many months cleaning up afterwards and our abilitiy to bounce back gets weaker and weaker"

"Study your market, research your demographics, put an actual strategy in place"

"Forward thinking, best practices, international, young company with an intelligent and dynamic owner."

"A little research shows you how special this company is. Come to the table excited and ready to sell yourself. The culture is one of growth and high energy and that is who they look for when adding a team member."
What don't you like about working at HORN USA?
"There was an occasional disconnect from the home office in Germany. But that was rare."

"They do a great job of fostering growth and exporation. Allowing employees to present ideas, suggestions and remedies. My suggestion is they continue this practice and never lose this vital part of what makes Horn special. It's people."
