"Marathon purchased the BP Texas City Refinery I worked at in 2013 and I worked for Marathon for 8 months. The following are firsthand accounts of what I witnessed while I was an employee. Low morale of employees due to working additional hours and weekends for no pay. The company cooked hotdogs for lunch one day to show their appreciation of engineers after releasing an email informing us flexible work schedules were going away in 2014. Forget any pay raises or promotions. We actually had dial up internet in 2013 at the site. I was told by the engineering manager to get a haircut before appearing in front of the refinery manager, as if I was a mere peasant appearing before the king of England. When I left the company the flood gates were wide open and employees were leaving in mass waves. I only wish more of my fellow friends and employees could escape."
