"Marathon Petroleum is an American petroleum refining, marketing, and transportation company headquartered in Findlay, Ohio that is ranked 22nd in the Fortune 500. Marathon is a good place to work, one of the last companies to have a retirement plan, in addition to a 401K plan."
"March 18 2019 I took a position at Marathon petroleum, the business culture there is very divided between management and labor, the management is very much anti union at negative cost to the fact that would rather loose money then use union labor. There is a lot of bias and nepotistic relationships that make a toxic culture."
"I worked for 3 plus years at the company. At my first year it was nice and helpful. The second year the environment began to change for the less desired. Then Marathon Petroleum bought the company and the environment was not healthy."

"Excellent company with opportunity to make improvements. Safety is becoming an improved priority within the local organization and my personal support of safety compliance is supported."
"Poor Management and No Job Security,"
"Average pay, not family focused company, does not treat hourly employees with the gratitude that salary employees are treated with. Hourly employees are made to feel like they are not really part of the team."
"Very little room for advancement."
"If you are not located in Findlay, OH. your chances of advancement are slim and none."
"Marathon purchased the BP Texas City Refinery I worked at in 2013 and I worked for Marathon for 8 months. The following are firsthand accounts of what I witnessed while I was an employee. Low morale of employees due to working additional hours and weekends for no pay. The company cooked hotdogs for lunch one day to show their appreciation of engineers after releasing an email informing us flexible work schedules were going away in 2014. Forget any pay raises or promotions. We actually had dial up internet in 2013 at the site. I was told by the engineering manager to get a haircut before appearing in front of the refinery manager, as if I was a mere peasant appearing before the king of England. When I left the company the flood gates were wide open and employees were leaving in mass waves. I only wish more of my fellow friends and employees could escape."
"I've worked my entire career (13 years) for Marathon Petroleum, and they have treated me very well over the years. They have fantastic benefits, great pay, and an honest desire to treat employees fairly. It has all the perks of being a fortune 50 company, while also feeling like a small community."
