"Make certain to ask about plans for company growth or downsizing -- and where you can expect to fit into each of those scenarios."

What don't you like about working at Bay Area News Group?

"The corporate knee-jerk reaction to monthly -- and quite often more frequent than that -- financial reports that often resulted in our hands being tied in our pursuit and presentation of the news and all too often resulted in staff reductions."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Refrain from damaging the product whenever cost reductions are sought. Rather, increase pressure on revenue-producing divisions."
