"I have a way back and forth to work on the 3rd shift due to the fact I'm on public transportation."

"If you can't keep u don't get mad, upset, dont walk away, or get frustrated. Just do your best and you will be ok."
What don't you like about working at GTM Plastics?
"I dont like how the place is being operated in general! From the pay, to not much help around, to full timers not wanting to come in because we get overworked, down to the machines always producing bad parts but we get fussed at, at times, down to the place needing more space in the warehouse, better machines, and leaders who act like they want to be there and do their job. Oh, and a cleaner workplace."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would make sure I lend an ear to my operators, do what I say and not lie to them, make their pay worth it, acknowledge the operators and let them know their performance. I would make sure I find time to have the work place and warehouse clean. I would stop blaming my operators for parts that are produced bad. Make sure my floor leaders get the help they need and are trained correctly. Also, make sure each shift is treated equally."

"I worked there 18 years at Georgia-Pacific, wonderful work with them."

"There is none dislike the company. Always follow the safety."

"Very good management. Management always kept works inform of changes."

"The co-workers were kind and helpful and we all banded together to make the best of the misery that was Valley Extrusions."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Run... Run away as fast as you can. If you've already interviewed, when they offer you a position, which they almost always do (because of the high turnover) get everything they promise you in writing and have it signed by a witness."
What don't you like about working at Valley Extrusions?
"There is favoritism to those that get drunk with the plant manager. The Engineering dept manager will not hire anyone that may have more skills than he. The Maintenance Supervisor does absolutely nothing and collects 6 figures because he went to high school with the owner."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop promising a great future and wages ,only to cut wages and hours after 6 months. This is Valley's MO and it is the same with everyone... unless you drink with management or golf. I don't drink or golf, so my $47k a year was dropped to $15/hr because of low sales volume. Then they cut our hours to 32 per week, promising things would be back to normal in 6 months. After 2 years, things only got worse and the Management got bonuses."

"Close to home money was ok but raises getting smaller not keeping up with cost of living"

"Plan on working lots of hours with little days off and no space to work.(cluttered)"

"Took away good benefits mandated weekends poor management taking on too much, plant cant handle work load no room to work, unsafe"

"Need to clean house bad management very unskilled guessing as they go always in meetings, no support"

"I work 3rd shift and the rate pay very low."

"I would actually tell them to keep their options open for a better place to work for."

"I do not like how they treat us and seem to have no respect for their employees. Very low moral at company."

"Thay need to have less favortism and treat people with more respect and make them feel valued not like another bodie to fill a position."

"just be your self and be honest. express the willingness to learn"

"Limited tools and supplies.. Lack of growing opportunities as well as some of the engineers were hard to communicate with."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"My suggestion would be to give the Operators more room in the budget for better tooling, and have a talk with some engineers about listening to suggestions the operators make they are the ones who work on the machines 8 + hours a day."
