2There are some very kind and genuine people who work for this company. Unfortunately the company itself is a bit of a mess. Several policies are chaotic and questionable. To my knowledge, we have yet to launch a new product on time and error free. The company long term goals seem to shift with whichever idea sounds like it'll make the next quick buck. Culture wise it's a bit toxic as there is a healthy dose of micromanagement and distrust of subordinates -- how much you suffer from this will be directly dependent on how much your supervisor shields you. Don't bother lodging a complaint because it won't be taken seriously, especially if it's about one of the "favorites" who are viewed as being unable to do anything wrong. Even if it's listened to, the result will be excuses and further mistrust of you as the person who lodged the complaint if not outright turning the blame back on you. Sometimes drama is caused seeming purely for the purpose of causing drama. (This includes "fishing expeditions" to find out if there's anything people have been complaining about or that might have happened and was satisfactorily resolved without need of external involvement which then gets unresolved due to the fishing.) They are massively understaffed in several departments and they know it, but there "isn't enough money" for hiring more people. Salaries tend to be all over the place, but from what I can gather (they try to keep it under wraps) many positions starting salaries are at the bottom of the market average. Raises are rare and typically no more than cost of living, if that. Lately there have been a couple bonuses, but there is little indication of if they'll continue and if so to what extent. Paycheck dates are not consistent. There is very little room for career growth as the company isn't really growing very much despite claims otherwise and more than once I've seen them hire from outside rather than promote internally regardless of credentials.
2.2This company does not like the software development department. It shows in how the principals treat this department. I do not believe that they know what each project entails pragmatically and they do not accept realistic estimates and customers frequently get frustrated when projects are behind and ultimately the Software Developer is the person who gets blamed.
