Working at Lord Abbett in Jersey City, NJ: 2 Employee Reviews

Lord Abbett Employee

"I've worked for Lord Abbet for just over a year and have found it to be a challenging yet exciting experience. It's a highly collaborative agile environment. The work involved solving complex problems where I was the sole UX designer."

Lord Abbett Employee

"Toxic environment. Chronic employee turnover, particularly among good employees who eventually come to realize the lack of meritocracy within the organization, and lack of accountability for senior management. Utterly incompetent management (which owns/controls the company due to the partnership structure), who promote and surround themselves with 'lapdog' managers/department heads, who won't question them and who will do whatever asked, irrespective of what it means for clients. Clients' best interest is often an afterthought. It is hard to justify the existence of this company's equity business, which offers utterly mediocre products, and which over the past decade pushed out most if not all of the professionals committed to fundamental investing and research. The fixed income business' top product is a 'Short Duration' product that has generated good returns by investing (among other things) in high yield bonds in a fund benchmarked against a lot of products that look a lot more like money market funds. An example of what is wrong with Wall Street."
