Account Manager
in San Diego, CA

"LM, the Lazy L Ranch."

What do you like about working at Lockheed Martin?

"Not a whole lot, an average company at best, when compared to other corporate giants."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Whatever is called out in the requisition, just tell them what they want to hear, for lower to mid level jobs. Management level jobs are a bit more difficult, predominantly determined by the numbers of work experience and not necessarily actual practiced/real world knowledge, if hired be prepared for meetings galore and no work-life balance."

What don't you like about working at Lockheed Martin?

"The archaic HR system which hinders/pigeon-holes employees. Raises are a joke, unless you're involved in LDP or have a masters (doesn't matter, it could be Phoenix or Yale), even then it's all about years and the masters is just a check in the box. They could care less about outside skill sets that may be able to help the company in other aspects/areas, although they promote one company, one vision."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Cross training, upward mobility, empower/trust your employees and don't bring in TDY's from other sites when the times get tough. Pay your rising stars and don't let them go, only to have them replaced by two or three new employees, who don't know what they are really doing and never have a chance to catch up. Instead give the star the money and start a mentor-ship by assigning them mentees, again cross training is the bane of LM."
