"Don't interview as a contractor expecting to transition to FTR ever."

"HR and the blatant misuses of contractors; meaning into year-to-year positions that last over a decade with critical knowledge and responsibilities yet no benefits and atrocious pay. In addition, attempting to transition to an FTR is nearly impossible due to prohibitive HR policies."

"Regularize contractors who you believe are valuable. Do not allow HR to drive hiring decisions. Stop using the term diversity candidate and taking that into consideration when hiring,"
"I find that Lexmark provides for a low stress work environment compared to many large tech companies. There are many valuable resources in terms of engineering knowledge. I enjoyed each term that I co-oped at the company."
"Worked here for 3 years, the amazing company as in the people who I worked with, they accommodate and welcome you into their family. However, it currently lacks direction and a way for growth, it feels stagnant but I have alot of hope that the amazing people working there will find a solution."
"Lexmark is a good company if you are looking to move into software development. The motto at one point was fast followers, which bothers me. They are shifting focus from hardware development to software development. They pay really well for the work and stress level, but there is a lot of this is how you are supposed to do things."
"It was my first job, any my only Firmware Engineering position, so I suppose I don't have much to compare it with. However, I felt that it was a pretty good place to work overall.Cons:- Pay did not seem that competitive- Quality of employees seemed to reflect lower pay- Did not feel like many of my colleagues were particularly gifted- Lots of attrition recently Pros:- Probably easier than average to get a job here- Lexington is fairly small, but quite nice"

"I've worked with Lexmark for several years. It is a great company to begin your career, but is (let's face it) in a dying industry with no clear path ahead. The competition is strong, and Lexmark fails to deliver against the competition."
