11 Administrative Assistants from Levitt and Sons submitted salaries.
Levitt and Sons is an American company specializing in real estate development and largely known for developing many of the United States' most well known suburban communities, including Levittown, New York; Levittown, Pennsylvania; Belaire At Bowie, Maryland; and Willingboro, New Jersey. Together with his sons William Jr. and Alfred, William Levitt, who started his business in 1907, is considered the father of modern suburbia in America. The company was responsible for building more than 180,000 homes. This construction activity created thousands of jobs for many servicemen returning from World War II and contributed to America's post-war housing boom as families moved away from inner cities and began living in newly created communities known as suburbs.
Although the elder Levitt passed away in 1994, Levitt and Sons continued to plan and construct communities for a mixture of ages in addition to communities marketed toward active adults throughout the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and Europe. Headquartered in Ft. Lauderale, Florida, the company was eventually forced into bankruptcy in 2008, caused by the dual problem of a sinking housing market and the weight of litigation brought about by many dissatisfied home buyers.
As a result of the bankruptcy reorganization, Levitt and Sons changed its name to Woodbridge Holdings Corporation in 2008, the same year that Levittown, New Jersey celebrated its 50th anniversary. The newly reorganized company continues to be based in Ft. Lauderdale and concentrates on investments in the real estate sector as well as other industries. It currently employs approximately 70 people, down from 500 employees before the bankruptcy reorganization.
Senior VP of Marketing is the highest paying job at Levitt and Sons at $300,000 annually.
