Working at Lear Siegler Services in Fort Riley, KS: 1 Employee Reviews

Electronics Technician

"I'll give them a B+"

What do you like about working at Lear Siegler Services?

"I like the people there, very outgoing and it was a friendly atmosphere to work at. People had a good work ethic, supervisors were even ok."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do your research on the company before you talk to them, because I was asked questions about them when I went or my interview."

What don't you like about working at Lear Siegler Services?

"I did not like the way human resources hired people and didn't ask us as employees our input on the individual they were interviewing. Several times they hired people without any experience at all or education in the field we worked in and paid them the same as a Technician that had over 12 years experience and encountered problems trying to train them, they were very slow to pick up on things. They hired one person who had never in his life worked in electronics such as the other employees and he had a Degree in Theology, he was a pastor of a church but he had zero experience and they hired him and put him at the same pay scale. They also hired another individual months later the same way and we had to train and teach him everything while he earned the same pay scale as the Techs that had years of experience and education over him and also seniority in the company. they also hired a person who had only been on the job maybe 5 months as a supervisor who came in with no experience either and we had to train him also, 5 months after he got promoted he quit.I don't understand what HR was thinking but they made a bad decision. LSI should review the policy on their hiring procedures and be more open minded with their current employees."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Overall it's a good company to work for I would just suggest they review the hiring policy I talked about."
