"Do not plunge into big decisions without due diligence. At the same time, for parts which work do not change direction every 2-3 months. Run the company like a small company to be efficient, innovative and cost effective while leveraging industry clout and financial strength to create advantage relative to competitors by leveraging critical mass and getting new products to market faster than others by creating a clear product vision beyond 2-3 years."

"It's a tight knit group. Most have been there for a long time. Be sure that you are a good fit in the first few months. If not, cut bait."

"I actually really like my position. There were personality conflicts with my female boss. She was insecure about me moving in to take her job. Other managers were surprised to see me go and even asked me to move to their departments."

"Get some new blood and new ideas in there to shake up the old timers... your look is looking a little outdated."

"This company constantly goes though boom and bust the average time you can work at this company before getting laid off is around 3 to 5 years. If you do not have a PHD you have a much less secure position."

"There was a lot of politics in the company where management looked to blame people for various problems with the tools. The tools were sold to customers without being well tested and the correct processes developed for the customers."

"decrease the number of middle management and have better communication with engineers."
