"A bit too large to move as quickly as I would like, yet a pleasant place to work."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Maybe think about increasing the directed research budget. I know this comes at the expense of the continuing engineering budget, so its just a suggestion."

"You need to be familiar with the product in this company."

"My internship only lasts for three months and I have to leave after that."

"I do not have particular suggestion for their management, I think they did pretty well."

"This is a very structured and reputable companies with great discipline and great technology. The marketing and engineering groups are world-class. It was exciting and rewarding to work to protect the 80% market share our particular product commands."

"Be prepared. KLA hire only the best. The interview process could be very dynamic to weed out the pretenders from true contenders that will not only fit the company culture but truly succeed."

What don't you like about working at KLA-Tencor?

"Like any large companies, corporate red tapes, and office politic is a very common issue. Managing internal folks seeking personal gratification over best interest of the company is often much more difficult than managing the customers."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"It's often difficult to truly prioritize and allocate resources appropriately and to implement the right program. A cookie-cutter program/set of policy may not fit across the various product divisions within this mega corporation."

"The equipment was very high tech and not many people understand or knew about it."

"Understand you will get very little support from others not because they don't want to help you it is they don't know either."

"The lack of information or documentation and people not sharing the knowledge."

"To minimize the employee turnover and have proper training with documents."

"KLA works on large complex project which make the work interesting."

What don't you like about working at KLA-Tencor?

"Half the time I work out of Michigan with the other half working out of Florida. Now that I live in Florida, I would like to spend more time here."

"All management structures are different and you need to work within their structure and be a team player."
