"I enjoyed my time at Kennesaw State University. The Position of Engineering Design Assistant allowed me to assist students in creating self-guided projects, instructs students on how to use 3d printers, drill presses, soldering irons, and milling machines, as well as familiarize me with troubleshooting the lab equipment. Overall a good first Engineering position to hold."

"I have worked at KSU (formally known as SPSU) for 2 years now. While KSU is a large institution, the Marietta Campus still has a small home feeling to it. While working as a Graduate Hall Director I was able to manage an entire building of first years students. I implemented my own ideas, supervised a staff of students and built relationships with upper administration of the university. While technically I was a student during my time in this position, the university and staff treated me as though I was full-time and gave me all of the same responsibilities. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would definitely recommend this position to others."

"I have worked for Kennesaw State University in my current capacity since 2010. I accepted the position because it allowed me to work in an area of interest, while allowing me to also complete a degree program that would be completely paid for by the University System of Georgia. Overall, I enjoy the atmosphere and people I work with, but need to move on to a field more inline with the MS I recently completed."

"Most of the workers did not feel a sense of ownership/ commitmment with their jobs."

"Teamwork, transparence and trust will go far in an organization."

"They are very flexible with my school schedule and they are laid back when it comes to leaving early or coming in a little late due to school related functions."

"It is very laid back, go in be yourself, there is no reason to worry or stress over it. Everyone is extremely nice and down to earth!"

What don't you like about working at Kennesaw State University?

"I don't feel like there is any room for me to grow here. There are plenty of opportunities, but not doing the jobs I would like to be doing, and not in the atmosphere I would like to be in."

"Make sure policies are clearly stated and followed across all departments of ITS"

"Personally, I have expertise in NMR, HPLC, GC/MS, UV-Vis, Raman Spectrometer, and Spectroscopy."

"Everything was perfect. The laboratories were well equiped and the teachers were very qualified."

"I have no suggestions. It was a fun experience for me."

"New classes can take up to a year to prove whether they will garner enough enrollment. Building off of popular classes is somewhat more sure to garner sufficient enrollment."

"Layoffs every 2-3 years with no notice given to employees."

"Be alert to creating pressure which restrict program coordinators from exploring creative ways of generating income."

"Salary is a major drawback. They compensate this with great benefit package however."

"Reward based on performance will raise employees motivation overall instead of a fixed 3-4% raise yearly."
