"I've worked at IU Health for 3 to 11 years at a time since 1990 in various capacities-all as an RN. Critical Care with open heart surgery patients, transplants and most other very high risk critical conditions. IU has both a Medical School and School of Nursing and have worked closely with Residents and Interns as well as their Staff Doctors in caring for high acuity critically ill patients. IU is a large corporation with all the pluses and minuses that accompany such."

"It's close to the interstate and a mall with lots of convenient shops."

"Walk across the street and beg for an interview at St. Vincent."
What don't you like about working at Indiana University Health?
"We're on the license of the downtown hospitals but they refuse to help us. Now we are being managed by IU North and they do everything differently than the downtown hospitals. Talk about a confusing, no win situation."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop telling us how much better IU North is and how they supposedly did everything first. Let Saxony develop its own culture and stop shoving North's culture down our throats."

"Just be positive and they live up to their mission, as well as expect you to do the same. Great people so that is not hard to do."

"at times the lak of communication between physicians offices( I tried to work on connecting all offices, staff so they could rely on each other for things)"

"There were days when I would have liked to have been less tied to my desk."

"Let people know they are appreciated. I'm not saying I did not feel appreciated there, but I think that is the number one thing all employees want from their employer, beyond the basics of salary and benefits."

"There should be more growth and advancement oppotunities becasue people need more richness in their work."

"Fully 'wired' from the get go. Electronic medical records. Beautiful building and surroundings. It was nice to work weekend option. I liked the nurse patient ratio. Was able to give good care."

"Be open to the fully electronic world. Be flexible. Work well with others."
What don't you like about working at Indiana University Health?
"I do feel I am not paid in accordance with my background and education. In order to learn something new (labor and delivery), I had to give up weekend option pay and therefore take a massive pay cut."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"We have had four different managers in three years so some stability of management would have been nice. Have a wonderful manager now. I think being visible to weekend workers would be nice. I felt sort of forgotten and left out a little."
