"Working at New Century was a new experience every day."

What do you like about working at New Century Financial?

"The frenetic energy of the company was very motivating and kept things interesting every day. Co-workers were knowledgeable and willing to work with you, especially with the new employees, so you could be more effective from the start. We were the largest wholesale sub-prime lender in the US, and felt very proud of our abilities."

What don't you like about working at New Century Financial?

"With all large corporations, it was sometimes very difficult to see an idea through to completion without being there for at least a year. The wheels of change moved very slowly there in an environment that demanded the opposite."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management should have been watching the the executives closer and holding them accountable along with the shareholders. They should have taken more time to assess the risk involved with lowering lending guidelines, knowing that in the long run those choices would lead to the mortgage crisis currently in the country."

What do you like about working at Books Are Fun?

"I liked the variety of work in my position. I also loved being able to help other staff members by making sure that our Unix systems was always available and helping user recommend system changes to implement."

What don't you like about working at Books Are Fun?

"The lack of career advancement. There were no positions that I could advance to in the IT department."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Do everything within business guidelines and legal rules to keep your employees feeling needed and valued. If you do, they will put forth greater effort on behalf of the company than employees that are not happy in their positions."
