"The Inter-American Development Bank Group is great place to work not only because of its mission “improving lives in Latin America and the Caribbean” but also because it is a world class company with a multicultural environment and high-end professionals from where you will learn as well as produce great results. The work Is hard work but the environment to work is unviable. I do recommend IDB as a great place to work."

"I worked for IADB with was established in 1959, the leading source of development financing for Latin America and the Caribbean, with a strong commitment to achieve measurable results, increased integrity, transparency and accountability. Have an evolving reform agenda that seeks to increase our development impact in the region. While are a regular bank in many ways, they are also unique in some key respects. Besides loans, we also provide grants, technical assistance and do research. As a BI and Solution Architect for IADB I was performing a key role in the US /DC and BR of the environment to the execution projects (IADB Yearly portfolio – average of 154 projects –with total of 2 billion US$). I was a member of a delivery team, supporting both new development/project and production support, as the highest-level technology domain expert. I was responsible for the assessment of business requirements; collection and identification of technical specifications; and the subsequent development of technology solutions that require development to be viable (i.e., business applications, LOB applications, work flow systems, purchased applications, developed applications, applications integration with include Data Warehouse/Data marts, BI Solutions, Reporting, Data Governance, Master Data Management and Information Architecture). I was envision and create solutions that meet business requirements; model the pieces of an infrastructure and their points of integration; prove the feasibility of a design; guide a solution through to its completion; and ultimately can be implemented and supported in production"

What do you like about working at Inter-American Development Bank?

"EXTREMELY social and meetings focused - very refreshing change from corporate culture, but sometimes too inefficient and bureaucratic."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Great experience for a few years but unless you have the PhD and/or right connections there is no mid-level or advancement here."

What don't you like about working at Inter-American Development Bank?

"It would be helpful to have more leadership/guidance. There are many talented professionals, but too often the productive bright talent leaves, creating a negative selection process. Lack of accountability fosters slackers that depend on consultants to do the work.... but they burn out and turn over so quickly that too little of the knowledge stays."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Too little accountability, consultants do 90% of work, bureaucratic incentives set up to reward those that avoid work and push it on to subordinates. Highly inefficient environment and bureaucratic."
