I recommend to management that they conduct a quality assurance period of 3-4 months before fully releasing to the public (to work out any potential bugs, customer drawbacks or resource issues). The top priority is to ensure that customers will be fully supported for this product transition and that resolutions will be swift and effective while the kinks are being fixed. Lastly, deadlines are always helpful in re-assigning priorities of a department based on the urgency of a task at hand.
