"The superiors, about half of the time it is incredibly frustrating working for people that have no idea of what you do all the while trying to tell you how to do it."

"If you're tasked with watching over us, it wouldn't hurt to take time out of your day to learn from us."

"The benefits, the diverse variety of people, and the ethos of the company have kept me with them for the past 13 years."

"The effects politics has on job stability. I always assumed I was secure in my job until the military started downsizing."

"Stop getting rid of you most experienced personnel and keeping those closest to retirement and the new inexperienced ones."

"There was always a new project to work on and the opportunity to be introduced to new technologies was always present"

"It isn't easy to be an IT in the Coast Guard since you have to be on a waiting list for several months and the school is several months long; make sure it is something you really want to commit to."

"You are on call 24/7 in the United States Coast Guard"

"The opportunity to do things I'd never do anywhere else."

"Pursue the armed forces only as a last resort, and try the Air Force first."

"There is a strong political atmosphere that gets in the way of efficiency and sound decision making."

"I'd cut frivolous spending, and slow down the operational tempo."

"Lately, the time between deployments is becoming shorter and shorter."

"I would suggest not deploying personnel for longer periods of time so the time between those deployments could also be longer."

"Go into Hunter knowing that they have office politics that are moreso than in the private sector."

"We have too much paperwork and beaurocracy. We have too much paperwork for any one job."

"I think we need fewer managers. Hunter is top-heavy with them."
