"Study up on govt requirements for medical device companies. Also, it helps to know lasers and motors really well."

"Sometimes logistics can cause problems, like a part shipping late, or a system arriving at an unspecified time."

"Expand our product line into clinical applications more than we do."

"The team I worked with directly was great. We supported each other as best we could in what was a degrading, political mismanaged horrible workplace"

"Pass this place up. You will be expected to work way beyond full time hours and the reward will only be that you get to keep your job (you may even be told this, regardless of whether you are a good or bad employee). This place treats people like objects, and your career will see no benefit unless you are a political brown noser."

What don't you like about working at Illumina?

"Company is top-heavy run by political hacks with no real skill. Hard work and quality will get you nowhere, and kissing up is the only way to move up here. Zero regard for one's personal life and unethical treatment of employees who are not in executive management or sales."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Revamp the entire structure. You have created a toxic environment that is nothing more than a perversion of what the company once stood for. Your employment base resents you and with good reason. Be accountable for the horrible decisions and negligance that you are directly responsible for. Reign in sales, they are out of control and unbelievably unethical."
