What do you like about working at Ilitch Holdings?

"There are wonderful people who work for this company. They stress innovation, so ideas for improvement are encouraged. They are generous with SWAG and have a company holiday party, summer picnic, and other events throughout the year for their employees. The general corporate culture is one where people work hard and are cooperative with each other."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't stress that you like the sports teams, tell them why you want the job you're actually seeking."

What don't you like about working at Ilitch Holdings?

"I would have liked more opportunities for advancement, but I may have been limited from this due to a really bad supervisor. (Even the best companies can end up with one here and there.) Also, the compensation was low. My experience with the terrible supervisor could have been minimized more if HR had been more thorough in investigating employee complaints."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Try to develop existing employees and promote more from within. Investigate employee complaints about supervisors and don't just take the supervisor's word as fact."

"Don't expect to change anything, the company, being privately held.... they pinch those pennies and stick to what works, even if their registers are just a shoe box and a calculator."

"the lack of support and double standards when it comes to who they want to train, or let go"
