Idearc Media is a company that sells print and internet advertising for small and medium-sized businesses. It was formerly known as Verizon Information Services. On March 31, 2009, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy but later emerged in December of the same year. In 2010, Idearch Media announced its new name, SuperMedia, and shares in the new company were issued for creditors and bondholders. Stockholders of the old Idearc Media did not receive any distribution as a part of the emergence plan. Today, SuperMedia also sells print and internet advertising, similar to the services offered by Idearc Media.
