"IBM, not the big company you think it is."

What do you like about working at IBM?

"They had a lot of work in which they paid a lot of OT and gave you freedom to come up with different ideas on how to work your project."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"IBM is a huge company. Working for them as a contractor, you will learn they will mess with your contracting company. For example, when I signed to be on one of their accounts, I received a week's vacation and a certain dollar amount. Two months later, my vacation was taken away and my pay was reduced by 10%. Furthermore, you have to work with Indian resources who are going to take your jobs."

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"I don't like that they are transferring our jobs overseas. I think they are going to need some US resources. It is good to cut some costs but to axe the whole US team is absurd."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Don't put all of your eggs in one basket and don't play favorites. The manager I report to right now is in love with one employee. The employee is a contractor and it is frustrating that this manager relies on everything this person says. When it came to cutting some resources, the recommendations on who to cut came from the contractor."
