"Don't bother unless you want to work in India, China, Russia, Brazil, or Mexico."

What do you like about working at IBM?

"I really enjoyed my years at IBM, the work was challenging, the people good to work with, the benefits were good."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Watch your back. Have a plan B."

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"Up until about 5 years ago. It has been going rapidly downhill since then. Now, it's all about short term profit at any cost. NO long-term vision, profits are made by acquiring other companies, raping the technology, and laying off the employees, shipping the jobs to India and China. My entire work-group was let go immediately after shipping a product (requiring much overtime and personal sacrifice) so that our jobs could be transferred overseas. I was offered the opportunity to move to a new country, although I would no longer be working for IBM US, and would be working at the local pay-scale. It was about the time I ran across the IBM patent to offshore jobs efficiently. This after 21 years of service, 160 patents, nothing but positive reviews, and a skill-set unmatched in the industry. I was able to find employment fairly quickly and I am enjoying my new position, but I still can't help but feel let down by the company I worked so hard for. I would not recommend working for the current iteration of this once-great company, unless it is a quick stop on the way to something better."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None, they wouldn't listen to me anyway."
