"IBM is a great company to work for in terms of work/life balance, however, morale and motivation is not very strong in recent years, and not all the positions there are easily applicable to outside positions."
"I've worked for IBM since 2011. I went from an intern to a full time employee. I enjoyed the atmosphere and benefits of working here."
"At IBM it depends on the division you are in. A shrinking division means there is no opportunity to move as hiring freezes make managers reluctant to 'release' you to another job in IBM. Some office locations are old converted manufacturing building and barely maintained. Good flex work scheduling/life balance. OK starting salary, but raises and bonuses are menial (below inflation). Extremely stingy on work stations (4 year cycle) and bring your own monitor/books/learning/tools."
"I recommend working at IBM."
"I have worked for IBM for nearly 3 years and my review is specific to the department I work in. My direct chain of management are fantastic, however because of the structure of our department I interact with potentially the worst executive in my experience. Because of that executives direction financial targets are put far before people, corners are constantly cut, everything is a last minute emergency, and fear drives outputs."
"Not the same IBM... starting to look like HP."
"Big company = Big bureaucracy."
"IBM Bay Area labs is a nice place to work. But the work isn't very challenging."
"IBM is a good company to work."
"IBM is an adequate place to work--nothing very good to say, nothing very bad. Management seems to think its resources are fungible--replaceable at a whim, which makes working for IBM a trying experience."
