"Not the same IBM, they fire 10% of the US workforce every year while hiring overseas to perform the same jobs. I would not recommend anyone to work there, it's just a matter of time before they fire you for no reason. Besides betraying our country, it's a very unimaginative place to work. Management does not allow employees to be creative and think outside the box. No new ideas have ever come out of IBM since the 60's. Work for Apple or Google; they invent things!"

That group was reorganized several times while I was there, and was searching for a mission. It didn't find one, at least not one that made sense to me. That was discouraging for me, and I believe for my colleagues. IBM's employment practices are excellent. Pay and benefits are good. Lots of flexibility regarding when to work, remote work, etc. The people around me were really smart, engaging, eager folks. They could accomplish a lot with better leadership."
