"Don't expect too much salary unless you are a proven sales person or manager. Be highly educated and eager to be busy and perform high levels of responsibilities, willing to absorb workload beyond your job description."

"IBM needs to have a frame of mind that it is investing in long time employees, so it benefits IBM to help them cross departments and expand one's role in the company. This means creating an advocate to other departments to encourage other managers to consider their employees for available jobs."
