"I have worked for HR Imaging as an underclass photographer for just one season and although the company does pay a good wage hourly towards its employees it is unfair to categorize the annual salary as $27,000. This is because these positions are considered seasonal, part time. This means that you are scheduled as needed and then laid off when not needed (i.e. when school photography is in its off season) This can be a good thing for some that work for the company for extra cash. Additionally one thing to note as long as one lives near an area where HR Imaging has many school accounts established they will work 3 or 4 days weekly on average during peak season, otherwise there's a chance one's hours may be minimal (under 14 hrs weekly) due to either not many schools to travel to, or other photographers located geographically closer to those schools so they are scheduled instead. Overall one does receive training and then experience in the job which can be beneficial depending on their experience level but the expectation one will net above 25,000 annual is unlikely because you simply will not be working full time hours every week year round."

"I do enjoy the job, however there is much that could be improved. The pay is okay, but you will never see a raise. They screw you out of mileage pay...the government allows .56 /mile, the company was paying .43 /mile and notified us they are now going to pay only .35 /mile. The equipment is worn out and some of it needs replaced but they won't do it. Some of positives are you can have a somewhat flexible schedule, working with great people and good local management."
