What don't you like about working at Home Depot?

"Working at Home Depot was very difficult for me because, as a career military person, I am used to following the orders given. I found that at the two Home Depot stores I worked at, it was who you know more than the ability you show for potential. I watched as a young lady was allowed to show up at work when she felt like it and nothing was ever said, even though everyone knew she was home instead of at work, and she always ended up with overtime, and not reprimanded, but promoted or recommended for promotion to assistant store manager at another store."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stay away from the cliques and be a boss. Dont let yourself become more of a friend than a boss. Give criticism when necessary and praise when needed. Reward your workers who go beyond what is normally expected, and reprimand those who need it, no matter what position they hold."
