"Home Depot is an excellent place to work. My co-workers are always friendly and make me feel welcomed, and I am very lucky to be working for such a supportive company through these difficult times in this pandemic. I have only been at Home Depot for a short period of time, and I have already proven my abilities to be trusted enough to be left in charge of the entire flooring department on my own on some workdays."

What do you like about working at Home Depot?

"I like helping customers out with the things that they need."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't take the job. You'd be better off on unemployment. They pay more!!!!!"

What don't you like about working at Home Depot?

"They take advantage of their employees. They do not pay their employees appropriately."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would make sure that every employee, EVERY employee, has a good salary. Home Depot is probably the poorest paying store that I have ever been in. You guys have employees that can't even meet there bills with what you pay. It's actually an insult. I have moved from garden to flooring to flooring specialist and got a whole .50 for making Home Depot over 500,000 in six months. Sound fair to you"

"The Home Depot is dynamic, challenging, and public-facing. It's never the same from day-to-day."

What do you like about working at Home Depot?

"I enjoyed the people I worked with. They were extremely positive and eager to help. I loved working with customers and helping to meet their needs. I'm an educator, and it was a constant chance to help people to learn."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be honest, and be yourself. When hired, you will be hired as a temp, part-time. Take it and make the most of it. Learn all you can, and be seen doing so. Pitch in in other departments, learn all the stations (key machine, pipe threader, chain cutter, millwork). After about 120 days, they make the move to either drop you or offer something permanent. If you've done what I said, there's a better than average chance of getting full-time. When I did the switch, I was given a 25% raise. Just sayin'."

What don't you like about working at Home Depot?

"I disliked the internal politics. I have a hard time reading what's going on below the surface, and that's ultimately why I left."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The management team is excellent. Their expectations are realistic, their work ethic is consistent, and their team support is wonderful. My only real suggestion might be to allow for more training time, when and as you can."
