"I worked for HPE for just under a year. I was part of their acquisition of Cray and was offered a "transitional position," which was only supposed to last until just after the first of the year. I was extended until the end of August. While I didn't have a lot of time to really get to know the company very well, it was interesting."

"I was employed at HPE for about 9 months after an acquisition of my former company, Cray. It's a huge organization with many layers of management which is sometimes difficult to navigate. All in all, the people are certainly above average in terms of abilities. I learned a lot and appreciate the opportunity."

Data Analyst Intern

"For summer 2019, I was fortunate enough to step into this company as a data analytics intern. HPE hired about 25 interns in California. We received some swag during the intern orientation. As a graduate student from the University of Texas at Dallas, I was bound to keep my networking skills on point and so I met a lot of successful people who have been contributing immensely by holding a key position in the company. We had an event named breakfast with the executives and the interns, this helped me understand HPE better as they were answering all the questions that the interns had for their company. As a part of the data services team, I was lucky enough to work on multiple things such as predicting the memory failure of an array for any application which is running on it. I also contributed to building stand-alone predictive models for capacity, CPU utilization for any given application running on an array. The data sets were huge and had to be partitioned into smaller sets. Parameters differ based on the type of application which implements these models. All the predictive models were developed in R language. My project also included developing a Django app which simulates real-time data based on user input by hitting multiple API endpoints. I was also involved in a time series project which implemented a dynamic time warping algorithm. The objective was to calculate the effective distance between multiple time series models. This internship gave me an endless opportunity to learn and implement new technologies. HPE aims at building powerful AI-oriented storage devices and servers. One main take away from this internship was that I have been constantly learning and implementing new things every day. R Shiny, SQL with Vertica, PostgreSQL, Mercurial, Django, tableau, SAS were the technologies that I used. HPE had intern events every month, we went to an escape room and a bowling alley. We have games and outdoor activities every month."

"I have worked with Nimble Storage since 2015 and then we were acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise on April 2017. There are lots of ups and down with a company that has been acquired but a constant change to adapt to everyday changes."
