"I like my coworkers, my boss, and many of the people I interact with on a daily basis. Initially, I loved being challenged, asked to do things which were thought to be impossible and coming up with possible results."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"PHP Development, the test is pretty easy, and you could download it ahead of time to test yourself if you wanted before going in - the in-house developers just have to pass the same test as the outsource programmers. Bonus points if you're familiar with CakePHP, and use their style."

What don't you like about working at Heritage Internet Technologies?

"The culture of the company disturbs me somewhat, very sales oriented. I fear that customers are not given adequate levels of service or even treated with humanity. I feel that management is either worried about me being able to replace them, or confident that I have nothing to add to help them. I only want to help :(."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Let me out of your box. Allow me to try to help make a difference in the company, to bring us back on solid ground - stop ignoring me and boxing me out. I can help, I can do business. Please, I plead with you to let me see that what I am doing is for the good of the company.I need to know that I am making a difference.I've told them all this before, and in as many words as well. I was told you're helping and making a positive difference where you are."

"It's great to be back working with software again."

"It doesn't pay very well unless you make a lot of progress finishing projects."

"There's no structured training for what I'm doing."

"Make sure your employees know how well they're doing."

"The co-workers were great. Before the economy went downhill, the company was fun and paid well."

"They moved from a company worried about customer service to a company worried about making sales."

"Re-structure the management teams, not the regular employees."

"sweat shop ....... do not work here if you do not want to sell"

"Be honest .... drop the selling requirements and do not base wage on sales"

"It was a good job to get LOTS of experience on multiple projects quickly as your pipeline is always crammed full of projects."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Avoid them unless you are desperate for the money. There are far better paying jobs out there in php programming. As in double and triple the salary. Heritage simply does not care about their employees enough to even trust them. They block most websites that as a programmer you would do research on, simply to control what people can see. It is a restrictive and claustrophobic environment."

What don't you like about working at Heritage Internet Technologies?

"Management is much more focused on numbers than quality. As a result the product suffers immensely when it becomes a race to see how many projects can be completed rather than taking time to make sure it's the best possible end result. They also require employees to sell a certain amount per week so many clients were sold the same thing, and paid for it, multiple times. This really disturbed me."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Make it about the product again, and not about increasing numbers. Cold hard efficiency does not make a company the best at something. It simply makes them fast and uncaring. Clients needs get short shrift when things are done this way as does honesty (as in many clients getting sold the same upgrades multiple times in a row)."

"The staff is amazing. All of my bosses are probably the best people I've ever worked with."
