"The best thing about HEB is the people. There is a strong feeling of being part of a team to bring the best possible experience to the customer. The retail industry is fast paced and always changing. You may experience a variety of emotions but boredom is not one of them."

"They hired good people, paid them well and allowed managers to perform their duties without many conference calls and meetings. They tried to hire from within when possible."

"Be honest, be sincere, understand that there is a military and Hispanic culture there and understand that you will work a 50+ hour week when you are a salaried manager."

"The company was over 100 years old and most promotions went to senior Hispanic managers They were qualified but there not many opportunities for advancement."

"Develop some floating cross trained managers to cover vacations, illness and who then could provide additional help during peak seasons."

"In my position my job was to sell self-manufactured products to competitors and this fact created problems with our BDM's."

"To separate sales from manufacturing and make it a separate unit like Safeway and Kroger."

"It was a lot better than working for independent pharmacy. Flexible schedule, great with school schedules, strong dependable company that supports higher education"

"I do not work there now. I would never work there again. They arrested me for a crime I did not commit after I was no longer employed. That is horrible customer service."
