Working at Guardsmark in Washington, DC: 1 Employee Reviews

Guardsmark Employee

"I am a former employee of Guardsmark security at the Providence hospital site in Washington DC. This is one of the worst and most unprofessional security companies that I have ever worked for. The Director of Security at this site, is very unprofessional when it comes to dealing with male officers, female officers are allowed to do as they please. If you speak out against him or his assistant they will change your schedule from 40 hours a week to 16 hours a week or just remove you from the schedule all together. The officers at Providence Hospital are not properly trained or equipped to handle the type of people that come to the hospital, especially the emergency room in the evening or at night. The assistant director should have never been hired by this company, because under their so called HIGH standards she wasn't even qualified, but she managed to become THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, so this should tell you that they don't pick the best people to do the job. She is unprofessional when it comes to dealing with the officers at this site. She has a "do as I say not as I do" mentality, she enforces rules according to who makes her mad. The company purposely fired most of the Officers that transferred over from Providence hospital, because of certain things that they promised the hospital that they would do for the incumbents, that they never did, and because we knew what we were doing and we spoke out against how unprofessional this company is. Some former Providence security officers were fired for having ANOTHER JOB because the pay is not enough. It's just a matter of time before someone sues the hospital because of the officers employed by this security company. First of all they are SECURITY OFFICERS doing the job of SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS."
