2.5I worked at GR almost 2 years. Things seemed great and there were a lot of promises made, which never made it to fruition. Around Jan ‘21 things went south. We saw multiple rounds of RIFTS without cause, departments couldn’t function due to intense turnover (a huge percentage of new employees quit within 3 months), producers and processors complained recruiting promises were not held up, bigotry was shown consistently by the CEO and trickled down, harassment wasn’t addressed, promotions were dependent not on performance but who sucked up and was there the longest, Managers heavily micro-managed high-performers for no reason, etc. Leadership is unprofessional and ill equipped; excellent leadership isn’t given the respect they deserve. More problems are created than solved. Competitive pay on teams doesn’t exist… I found out a person who was with GR a couple years more than me, but in the exact same role as me, was making DOUBLE MY PAY! Benefits are sufficient, only 5 holidays, low PTO they tell you to use (but don’t give you the space to do so), etc. I would never recommend GR to a friend.
3.2Guaranteed Rate has been a fantastic start to my career in the mortgage industry. Guaranteed Rate is one of the largest correspondent lenders in the country. They follow their core values to a tee. While the company is very successful, they have a large disconnect between leadership and their employees. They are not afraid to change their structure to ensure the company is benefiting while their employees may suffer. Leadership hides behind managers and does not accept feedback. They claim to have the best rates, while numerous other companies tend to have better. There is a large issue with communication within and when it comes to pay. Accounting does not respond well with issues. When compensation or pay is involved they do not make it a priority. The technology GR offers, is one of the finest in the industry. They have multiple products that other companies do not have.
1.4The worst company to work for. They will not pay you. Teams and teams of people walk out. They act like a cult and try to manipulate their communities by acting like they are doing acts of kindness when it reality they are stealing employees money to pay for the events and then writing it off as a business expenses. Do not get a mortgage here. They pretend to care and share your personal information with other buyers who want to raise your rate and charge you thousands of dollars in points. Horrible company hands down
