What do you like about working at RadioShack?
"I gained some great customer service skills and operations management skills. I think knowing how to control expenses and understand P&L is critical to personal growth."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"RadioShack is a good place to learn customer service skills. Hope you don't want a personal life."
What don't you like about working at RadioShack?
"There was no balance of life at all. When building out 24 new stores, I worked over 400 hours in one month. This was not typical, but my normal work week was in excess of 70 hours."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"You had a great business model and you sold it out for residuals. My stock went from $70 a share to under $13. All my stock options became worthless. You cared more about your own bonuses than about the company that you promised to move forward into the millennium."

"No reward for premium performance. Macy's doesn't truly believe in or advocate for young talent."

"Develop young talent."

What do you like about working at Macy's?
"I liked that I was given the autonomy to develop and train my staff. It was also easy to lead my peers by stepping forward for events."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be a go-getter and know how to train and develop your people."
What don't you like about working at Macy's?
"The pressure to meet the quota for new accounts and the customer service scores were the worst - these could ruin your day if not your career. Also, since the Rob-May merger there was too much confusion of people not following the Macy way. Just embrace the Macy way (you'll hear that a lot) and everything is fine."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"My suggestion for management is stick to managing your people and MEET your goals and life at Macy's ok. There are a lot of politics that you must wade through to get ahead."

What do you like about working at Macy's?
"I liked that Macy's was a very fast paced, hands on environment. And for someone who loves attention to detail it's a great place to work. And of course the people are great to work with. There are many challenges that come up on a daily basis that allow you to keep your problem solving skills sharp."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Make sure you leave your interview knowing what is expected of you as a member of your store team and as a member of the store management team. Because in my experience they are not the same."
What don't you like about working at Macy's?
"There were several times that I felt it difficult to effectively do my job with resources and situations that I was in. Often not only was I responsible for my duties as a GSM, but I was required to pick up merchandising duties as well. it is not out of ordinary to help someone else who needs assistants, we all do at some point. But when you are required to do so on a regular basis, it starts to interfere with your work and pretty soon nothing gets the attention that it deserves."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"There should be more of a support system for the management team, and more of a clear defined job description so that everyone knows what the are responsible for and not left to think that they need to make sure everything is accounted for."

What do you like about working at Raging Waters?
"I loved the people I worked with, and although we worked together many, many hours a day, we were family, and committed to making Raging waters the greatest water park in California!"

"Don't work there unless you enjoy working 6-7 days a week, without overtime."

"Many hours and 6-7 day work weeks."

"treat the management with more respect, by honoring that they too have family, and can't be forced to work so many days without days off."

"Discounts, working with the public, working with a talented staff."

"You have skilled people, be more interested in them and they will be more interested in staying."

"You have to be able to communicate well, especially to your employees. So you need to bring something different to the table. They want to know how well you can do this."

"Not enough recognition for a job well done."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Managers are employees too. They also need a pat on the back for a job well done. I do understand that it is a fast pace environment and that sometimes there is just not enough time to do so."
