Working at Global Peace Foundation in Seattle, WA: 1 Employee Reviews

Global Peace Foundation Employee

"The Good: Being a global company working with 20+ countries. Offices are located all over the world and there is potential to travel to them if your job allows. Working toward peace. To sum up: 1) communication is unprofessional/disrespectful, 2) upper management does not trust and respect employees, 3) workplace is unhappy, 4) company has a bad reputation, 5) work style with boss does not work with "any" one, 6) job duties are unclear, 7) they hire you quick, quick, quick. I worked in the education division and the experience is awful. I began with a different explanation of the job than what was really expected. They supply no computers, phone, notepads, etc., for your office. My boss told me I was going to have a team to work with and I found out that means to work alone with no one in the office (working all by yourself) and the -team- is the global offices in other parts of the world. I learned after-the-fact that my boss makes excuses and dodges questions cause he has no idea what to do. All of the work done at the division, such as guides, booklets, flyers, reports, content, google drive, etc., were done by interns or previous employees so there is no clear consistency of what work was done, how it works, plan of action to do things, and processed to accomplish. I never met with upper management. Your benefits are pathetic. 5 vacation days. No dental. 5K health deductible. No matching 403(b). The education division VP will try to make you quit when it is time for you (the employee) to go. It is a pattern of the high turnover and the pattern to prevent you from getting unemployment so they do not have to pay the taxes. This job is a joke. If I were the founder, I would take my money and spend it another way to make a change in the world. Just focus on the united Korea campaign."
